Portion Of Colorado Gun Laws Suit Dismissed

(Denver, CO) -- Nearly 60 sheriffs around the state aren't being allowed to sue over Colorado's new gun laws. U.S. District Judge Marcia Krieger dismissed that portion of the suit on Wednesday. She ruled the sheriffs could sue as citizens of the state, but not in their official capacity. The case against the state names Governor John Hickenlooper as well. It challenges the new magazine capacity and background check laws as being unconstitutional.
