(San Antonio, TX) -- A San Antonio medical-device company is getting FDA approval to market its first product to help control scalp bleeding. The iTClamp Hemorrhage Control System can now be used on scalp wounds, in addition to the arms, legs and other areas of the body already approved by the FDA. Manufacturer iTraumaCare says scalp wounds are among the bloodiest types of injury, and use of the iTClamp system will be a benefit to first responders and medical professionals. According to the company, the iTClamp seals a wound at the edges, providing a temporary clot until surgery can be done.
