(Little Rock, AR) -- An Arkansas judge says the state's ban on same-sex marriage is unconstitutional. In striking down the ban, Judge Chris Piazza wrote that Arkansas' marriage laws discriminate against same-sex couples in violation of equal protection rights. The judge did not issue a stay, which opens the door for same-sex couples to apply for marriage licenses. Seventeen states and the District of Columbia allow same-sex marriage.
