(Washington, DC) -- The Senate always opens with a prayer and the Dalai Lama did the honors yesterday. The exiled Tibetan spiritual leader was at the Capitol for meetings with congressional leaders. Filling in for Senate Chaplain Barry Black, the Dalai Lama advised lawmakers to speak and act with a "pure mind, and happiness will follow you." The Dalai Lama recently met with President Obama at the White House. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid praised the Dalai Lama for spreading the gospel of peace, hope and inspiration around the world.
