First-Time Jobless Claims Fall

(Undated) -- Fewer Americans are seeking first-time unemployment benefits from the government, continuing evidence the economy is improving. The Labor Department said yesterday that it received a total of 283-thousand initial claims last week. That's about 21-thousand less than the week prior. Analysts say even with the shortened work week due to President's Day, the unexpectedly sharper decline shows the job market keeps getting stronger.
