(Washington, DC) -- Britain's former Prime Minister says the current Iraq crisis is a long-term problem.
Tony Blair told NBC's "Meet The Press" the extremism in the region almost guaranteed the current Iraqi government would fail. He also said the current crisis could be softened by having Iraq's Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki resign. Blair was an enthusiastic supporter of the U.S. military operation in Iraq as well as a close ally of former President George W. Bush.
