House Republicans Move Closer To Obama Lawsuit

(Washington, DC) -- House Republicans are moving closer to suing President Obama for executive overreach. Opening a hearing of the House Rules Committee yesterday, Texas Republican Pete Sessions accused the President of violating the separation of powers.
Republicans are furious about Obama's heightened use of executive actions. The President vows to continue working around Congress, whenever possible, through executive orders. He says the actions are necessary due to congressional inaction. The GOP lawsuit will focus on executive actions President Obama has taken involving implementation of the healthcare reform law.

Slaughter called the lawsuit a preposterous waste of time and taxpayer dollars.
North Carolina Republican Virginia Foxx said President Obama has exceeded his executive authority.
