Missouri Governor Declares State Of Emergency, Announces Curfew

(Ferguson, MO) -- A state of emergency is in effect for the St. Louis suburb of Ferguson. Missouri Governor Jay Nixon made the declaration while also announcing a curfew for the city from midnight until five in the morning. The move comes after a night of looting and clashes between police and demonstrators angry over last weekend's shooting death of an unarmed black teen. One of the businesses looted overnight was the Ferguson Market. That's the convenience store 18-year-old Michael Brown allegedly robbed before his run-in with the police last Saturday.
