(Columbus, OH) -- Health officials in central Ohio are worried about an outbreak of mumps. More than 50 cases have now been reported in the outbreak that began at Ohio State University. A spokesperson for the Columbus health department says the disease is now spreading to people who have no ties to the school, calling it a "disturbing development." Mumps is a highly contagious disease that causes painful swelling of the salivary glands.
