(Brussels) -- NATO is vowing to stand by Ukraine's territorial integrity in the face of "the greatest threat to European security" since the Cold War ended. NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen also called on Russia today to withdraw its forces from the Crimea peninsula. His remarks come after the Crimean parliament voted to join Russia, escalating the crisis. Rasmussen called Ukraine a valued and long-standing partner for NATO. He said the situation has serious implications for the security and stability of the entire Euro-Atlantic region.
