(Undated) -- A new vaccine is appears to provide protection against chikungunya virus. Researchers at the National Institutes of Health say initial tests showed the vaccine increases antibodies that fight the disease. Chikungunya causes headache, fever, muscle and joint paint, fatigue, and rash. The mosquito-borne disease has infected almost two-million people throughout Asia since 2005. Recent outbreaks have sickened people in Europe, Africa and the Americas. A report on the new vaccine is published in the journal "The Lancet."
