(Austin, TX) -- Texas Governor Rick Perry's attorney is calling his indictment political abuse. David Botsford says Friday's grand jury decision violates the separation of powers outlined in the Texas Constitution. A Travis County grand jury indicted Perry Friday afternoon for vetoing seven-and-a-half-million dollars from the budget for the Travis County District Attorney's office. It was after Travis County D.A. Rosemary Lehmberg was arrested for drunk driving in 2013 and refused to resign. Perry is charged with abuse of official capacity and coercion of a public servant.
