(Undated) -- There are new developments in Google's apparent quest to expand its presence in online video. VentureBeat says the tech giant has finalized a deal to buy the live-streaming startup Twitch for a reported one-billion-dollars. Twitch has become a popular player in the gaming arena with its business of streaming live videos of people playing video games. Its integration with Google could mean bigger things for Google-owned YouTube, which is steadily building its own inventory of live-streaming events. Twitch has also been hosting its own streams of live events like conferences and conventions such as Comic-Con. Google's collaboration with Twitch was first reported back in May.
