(Oakland, CA) -- A Seattle Seahawks player will have to stay out of trouble after pleading no contest in an Oakland court to avoid a DUI trial. Running back Marshawn Lynch was arrested on July 14th after a CHP officer saw him weaving on Interstate 880 in Oakland. CHP says a breath test showed a blood-alcohol content over the legal limit of point-08 percent. Lynch's defense attorney claims Lynch's blood-alcohol level was exactly point-08 and his client would have had a good chance of winning the case at trial. Considering the Seahawks' Super Bowl win and possible endorsement deals though, he felt a plea deal to a lesser reckless driving charge made more sense. Lynch was sentenced to two years' probation.
