Texas Woman Sentenced In Ricin Letter Case

Texas Woman Sentenced In Ricin Letter Case
(Texarkana, TX) -- A Texas woman who sent ricin-laced letters to President Obama and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is headed to prison for a very long time. Shannon Richardson's attorney Tonda Curry says her client didn't think she would get the 18-year sentence handed down yesterday.
Richardson will spend nearly two decades in federal lockup and ordered to pay more than 360-thousand dollars in restitution. Richardson mailed the letters in May of last year, and then told police her husband did it. Richardson apologized to Obama and Bloomberg in court this morning, but still claims her husband was involved in the scheme.
