(Undated) -- Coffee-and-doughnuts chain Tim Hortons is pouring a new coffee blend it hopes will hold back the rising tide of Starbucks and McDonald's. The Canadian-based company's new dark roast blend expands on the only blend the company's poured during its 50-year history. The new blend is on the menu starting today in all the nearly 45-hundred Tim Hortons locations across the U.S. and Canada. The company also announced on Thursday it might raise prices to offset rising costs and competition from U.S. companies expanding in Canada.
