(Toledo, OH) -- It will be at least until sometime Sunday before people in northwestern Ohio will be able to drink the water. Around 500-thousand people in and around Toledo have been warned not to drink the tap water after tests found high levels of toxins. People are also being told not to give the water to pets and that boiling it can actually make it more toxic. Water samples tested positive for a toxin associated with algae in Lake Erie that can come from fertilizer, livestock pens, or septic tanks. Authorities are awaiting results on more tests before the water can be deemed safe to drink.
