(Miami, FL) -- Tropical Storm Bertha is gaining strength and could become a hurricane later today. The National Hurricane Center clocked Bertha's maximum sustained winds at 70 miles per hour as the storm pushed past the northern end of the Bahamas early this morning. Forecasters say the storm will pass midway between the East Coast and the island of Bermuda on Tuesday. Bermuda is located 650 miles east of North Carolina.
