Unions: Negotiations Tough Already

(San Antonio, TX) -- Tension between union officials and city officials is apparently setting a sour tone for collective bargaining negotiations. Leaders for both the police and fire unions have told KSAT-TV that arguments over the cost of pensions and health care benefits have made it tough to negotiate with the city in good faith. Negotiations on a collective bargaining agreement are held every four years, and the previous agreement took 18 months to complete.
