President Joe Biden was inaugurated today, officially becoming the 46th President of the United States.

Calling it "America's day," the former Vice President spoke about the country coming together in his inaugural address. "Politics doesn't have to be a raging fire, destroying everything in its path," he said.

Urging unity, he added, "I will be a president for all Americans. I will fight as hard for those who did not support me as for those who did."

In a break from tradition, former President Donald Trump departed Washington D.C. earlier in the day after deciding not to attend the inauguration. Biden was joined onstage by Vice President Mike Pence and several former Presidents and Vice Presidents.

In his speech, Biden used the opportunity to bring the nation together while also mourning the loss of 400,000 from the coronavirus.

"America has been tested and we've come out stronger for it," Biden said.
