The Vatican is calling for the immediate release of hundreds of students and teachers still being held after a mass kidnapping in Nigeria. Authorities say 50 of the 303 children abducted from St. Mary’s Catholic School in Niger State have now escaped. The children, aged 10 to 18, made their way out individually between Friday and Saturday and have been reunited with their families. However, more than 250 children, along with a dozen teachers, remain missing after gunmen attacked the remote Papiri community on Friday. No group has claimed responsibility for the abductions.
