Many fathers and husbands carry more than the people around them realize.
They think about the bills that need to be paid, the decisions that must be made, the needs of their wives and children, and the future they are trying to prepare for.
They may wonder whether they are providing enough.
Leading well enough.
Being present enough.
Praying enough.
Even when no one has directly asked them to have every answer, they may still feel as though they should.
That pressure can slowly become fear.
Fear of failing.
Fear of disappointing the people they love.
Fear of making the wrong decision or being unable to protect their families from hardship.
But God never asked a husband or father to become the savior of his home.
That role belongs to Jesus.
A faithful man does not lead by pretending to be invulnerable. He leads by recognizing his dependence upon God. He seeks wisdom, admits when he does not know what to do, listens carefully, asks for help, and brings his family’s needs before the Lord.
Trust is not weakness.
For a man accustomed to carrying responsibility, surrender may require tremendous courage.
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
— Proverbs 3:5–6
