The student who once needed help with every detail will begin making more decisions independently.

Parents may feel proud of the person their child has become while also grieving the closeness of the season that is ending.

Students may feel ready one moment and overwhelmed the next.

The move to college is not only a change of location. It is a transition in identity, responsibility, relationships, and faith.

For many parents, letting go can feel like losing the ability to protect.

You will not know every friend your student meets.

You may not hear about every struggle.

You cannot oversee every decision or immediately solve every problem.

But your student has never been sustained by your watchfulness alone.

The God who has cared for them through childhood will remain present when you cannot be.

He will see every late-night walk across campus.

He will hear every quiet prayer.

He will be near in every difficult class, lonely weekend, new friendship, and important decision.

You are not releasing your student into an unknown future.

You are entrusting them to a known and faithful God.
